Cookies

Why do we use cookies?

The CMQ uses cookies on its sites to improve performance and enhance the visitor experience. Cookies are small text files that the site may place on a device during a visit. Cookies help the site recognize the device used during subsequent visits.

How do cookies work?

Our website uses persistent or temporary cookies. A temporary cookie is a file that is active only during a visit to the Web site and is deleted when the browser is closed.

Persistent cookies, on the other hand, remain on the device for a certain or indefinite period of time.

Most cookies do not collect personally identifiable information, but rather general information such as how the user accesses and uses the site.

What types of cookies does the CMQ use?

Necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to the operation of the site and the security of your browsing experience: they cannot be deactivated in our systems. They allow you to use the site's functionalities, such as accessing your secure file, completing a form or defining your confidentiality preferences. If you choose to disable these cookies in your browser settings, you will not be able to access all the features of the site in question.

Performance and analysis cookies

These cookies are used to analyze how visitors use our site and to monitor its performance. This allows us to collect information (e.g. number of visits, traffic sources, most and least viewed pages, etc.) and generate reports on site usage statistics without identifying individual users personally.

Functional cookies

These cookies let the site remember your preferences, such as your language or region, and offer you personalization and advanced functionalities. Disabling these cookies may have an impact on your browsing experience and on certain site functionalities.

Are other data used without my knowledge?

The CMQ also collects the IP address in order to recognize a user's device and impose a limited number of daily uses of the search tools. The IP address allows CMQ to control the identity of a user's device only when he or she uses the application. This measure protects us against denial-of-service attacks aimed at making a service unavailable, preventing legitimate users of a service from using it and overloading the site.

To analyze visits to its public Web site, the CMQ uses Google Analytics software, which uses cookies to record certain visitor behaviours, such as the number of visits to the Web site, the path taken and the duration of each visit.

What are your rights?

You can disable cookies that are not necessary for navigation on our Web site.

You may consult the personal information that the CMQ holds about you by using the access request form. You may also correct your personal information by using the rectification request form (available in French only).
